Meet Stephanie Higashi of Health Atlast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Higashi.

Stephanie and Wayne met in Chiropractic school in 2000. They found their individual strengths were a great blend to help patients together. Straight out of school they took over a pre-existing practice and began helping more and more people. As the years passed and after experiencing great expansion they noticed more and more patients on a large number of pharmaceutical prescriptions to resolve their health problems.

Seeing side effects and patients having some needs not being addressed with the state of healthcare delivery Wayne and Stephanie Higashi together formed an integrated health care model – Health Atlast. Health Atlast is the first multi-disciplinary healthcare franchise. Each Health Atlast clinic offers – Medical, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage and physio-therapy. The integration and availability of all of these types of care ensure thorough, appropriate care for patients for people to get to the core cause of problems and not just mask symptoms with medications.

Successfully they have built the Health Atlast franchise to 6 locations and growing. They are always looking to increase the number of locations to help more communities of people and love when patients are able to improve their health and find the underlying cause of their aches, pains, conditions and improve their health, life and happiness.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

Health care is ever changing with rules, regulations, reimbursements. Patients also struggle because of the mixed messages they receive from commercials, ads and the idea that a simple medication may be the solution instead of sitting down with providers confronting life style choices.

Lifestyle choices and habits are not fast and easy over night fixes but adopted as a consistent regular choice can make for long lasting health solutions.

We love our company because we provide the highest technology of health care and providers all in one location for patients. Sometimes patients are confused whether they are supposed to go with allopathic traditional western medicine or alternative medicine having all of the different kind of providers all in one location helps get that sorted out and answer questions so that they are getting the best that exists for them and the most comprehensive appropriate approach for the patient.

This sets us apart from other clinics because most clinics are only medical or only chiropractic and usually in the marketplace, these different disciplines are opposed to each other or do not recommend each other again creating confusions for patients. We are usually able to see the patients on the same day and can provide the different specialties in one location and most times on the same day.

We are extremely proud that we have helped many people and because of the high quality of care often treat family members and sometimes generations of a family. We are proud of our patients, the ones that are doing well, improving their health and taking care of themselves for taking care of ourselves allows us to better take care of more of our world.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?

I would have started an integrated model of Health Atlast earlier for more people to be helped in more ways faster and easier to help with the health crisis observed.
